I have contemplated many times what I would write when the opportunity came for me to contribute to our family blog. Brittany has been doing a fantastic job, and she is such a gifted writer! Brett and I always marvel at how telling
the story comes so easy for her, the words just always flow. So please bear with me as I begin my first entry into the blog world......
Over the past couple of weeks, my heart has been very heavy. I have stood by…silently… watching the media continually attack my husband...Certainly, having been in public life for 18 years, this is not new to us. However, this latest round of media scrutiny has been harder, more disheartening and seemingly unending.
Sure, for some, it is difficult to understand the tough choices we have recently made for our lives. But, although Brett may be in a new uniform on the football field, he is still the same man that all of you have loved, cheered and supported for the past two decades. He is the same man who supported me through my battle with breast cancer and served as my rock during the difficult days following my brother’s death. Brett is the same man that helps our youngest daughter with her homework every night, and he is the same man that guides our oldest daughter through this exciting adventure we call college. Brett is the same man who has always put his team first, not personal gains or statistics. And, Brett is the same man we know who is filled with great character, strength, goodness and love. Truly, nothing has changed but a uniform.
Of course, eighteen years ago, when Brett decided to enter the NFL, we learned to take the ups and downs of winning, losing, glory and disappointment as part of the process. But, at the end of the day, we always believed we had done our best to be faithful. Certainly, we did not think professional sports and a life in the fish bowl would be easy or some “Pollyanna” life, but we learned to listen more to those voices and lessons that mattered most, while treating the others as grains of salt.
But, over the past weeks, we have been deeply affected by the various media reports and accusations that have unfairly questioned Brett’s loyalty, fairness and character... Our children, family and friends have been so supportive and steadfast during these times. Brett and I have two wonderful girls, who, daily, show us unconditional love and remind us that ever
ything will be okay.
And, they remind us that media reports, accusations and rumors become irrelevant in light of the joy they bring to our family and in how they remind us that, in all things—even the tough things--- God has a bigger, better purpose.
But, I will say, most hurtful are those media reports who would like you to believe that Brett is eaten up with bitterness over his split with the Packers. Still feeling some grief, sure… but not bitterness. Yes, in the beginning, Brett was angry and hurt with the way things ended, but how could he not be? Brett gave most of his career (and his adult life) to the Packers. They were more than just an organization but also became our home away from home and our surrogate family. We will always love the Packer fans for making Brett more than just the focus of their applause on game day, but as part of their families, too. Again, how could any of us not be hurt and brokenhearted about such a loss of connection? Thus, certainly, Brett does not, in any way, hold a vendetta against his former team. But that has not stopped some from scrutinizing his every move and blaming him for so many things that simply are not true. Some incidents, like the locker room pranks appear funny (but they are still untrue)… Others, like the questionable phone calls to other teams, are hurtful, distasteful, and… still untrue as they have been reported.
Because of this, lately, my heart has been so heavy. It is very hard to watch the daily toll this has taken on Brett... First and foremost, I am his defender when people tear him down. Thus, each word and accusation weigh down on me like a ton of bricks, because I know the truth behind the rumors. My first instinct is to fight for him—for his character, his peace and his reputation. At the end of the day
, I am not just Brett’s wife, I am his biggest fan.
But, lately Brett has reminded me of what is truly important and what is not… Not long ago when he re-prioritized his life, he asked himself the question “Who will be here after football is gone?” the answer was his family. So at that moment, our family became priority one for him. Brett reminded me that at the end… it is his family, their opinions and their love that matters the most to him. People will have to believe what they will. They have known his character for 18 years, and they will have to trust that, although teams change, a man like Brett Favre does not.
Some may say: “But your life is so glamorous.” or “You can’t complain; this comes with the territory.” Sure, it is a wonderful life, and, like I said, we take the good with the bad. However, when people choose to intentionally harm my family, I will not accept it as normal or as “part of the job”. Instead, we will continue to do what we know is right for our family, and will continue to concentrate our efforts in projects that bring positive change and outcomes in people’s lives. For instance, we love working with our foundations and know how important it is to focus our efforts in those areas, continuing to share a message of hope and to eradicate breast cancer through raising funds to help those who are uninsured or underinsured in the states of Mississippi and Wisconsin. We are currently working to find organizations and people that need our help in the New Jersey/New York communities—where our new organization, the New York Jets, have all been so supportive and have embraced our entire family with open arms.
So, as you can see, God is doing wonderful things in our midst. But, thank you for letting me vent a bit about where some parts of the journey have become uncomfortable, and, in my opinion, unnecessary. And, please pray for me when the world makes me feel a little too human and much too protective of the people I love most in this world.
But, like Brett reminds me, at the end of the day, we are here to support and celebrate one another, to make the best of what God has given for us to do, and to live each day as the “hands and feet of Jesus in the world”. We have much to do…much we can do… to make a difference and, especially, to make “wherever” we are planted the best place possible.

Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber;indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

You are all very blessed to have a wonderful support system in place within your family. Remember to continue to stay strong through the storm!
Best wishes to all of you as the holidays approach!
Thanks so much for the great insight to your family dynamic and for keeping in touch with all your fans! Don't worry too much about all that is being said (negative) about Brett... most of us in Wisconsin realize its the media creating the drama, and do not like the way Brett was/is being treated.
We miss you! Wishing all of you the best....
Hey i know this is not really the intent of this blog but upon seeing your Palm 121 insert.. i had a deep feel of remorse. I mean i've basically deserted the Christian way of life in which i was brought up in. I mean, it's such a tough world and i've been totally sucked in.
Even though things get really tough, theres one place i never forget and that's my Family. Hopefully one day i would find the courage and wisdom to reacquire the sense of belief in the way of the Lord.
Go Brett & Deanna and i'm looking forward to going to my first Jets game against the Broncos!!!
I often wonder how you do it. The media tries and tries to tear a wonder and strong family apart, but you are too strong for even the media. Stay strong! Your fans are backing you as a family. Your fans know the truth although that is not enough to stop the media, in fact it may trigger them even more. Brett is a very unique player. He is an excellent leader on the field but off the field too with his family. That is what makes me a Favre fan. It's the strength of his family. Please know that all of the Favre Family fans stand right behind you. When you feel you're falling, please know that we are there. God bless you all.
There have been alot of bad things said the last couple of weeks, but the "true" fans that have loved and followed both Brett and your family know the truth. We remember the last 17 years and would follow him to the end of the earth! Do not lose faith and try not to let it bring you down! Unfortunately alot of people are bitter over the whole situation and turn that into hurt and although it is sad it only makes you stronger. I have no doubt in my mind that Brett will come through this and lead his team like he always does and it will quiet down. Remember, there are millions everywhere who still love you and feel part of your "family" and that will never change! Go J E T S!
Brett & Family, thank you so much for all of your years in Green Bay. Your true fans still want to see you succeed and know to ignore the nonsense stories that come out with no credible sources. We miss you and support you 100%. Please don't forget us!
-A Packer Fan
Brett gave us Packer Fans a Super Bowl and many great memories.
The press is just tying to sell papers or stories in this bad times. I am so sorry the Farves have to pay the price of some poor press. They don't deserve it.
Tell Brett one of my farvorite memories with my sons is going to Green Bay athe day after the Super Bowl win.
I never watched the Packers before Brett. Now I am huge football fan. I was always a Packer fan but now I am also a Jet fans.
Go Farves!!!
Your true fans will be there no matter what is said. We know that the media playes on lies planted by GB management - those who wish to believe were never true fans - and these are not the kind of people you want as friends anyway. Always hold your heads high, rely on family, friends and loved ones - as they are the ones who matter most - always.

PS-I think Brit got her writing skills from you Deanna :)
Favre Family,
You are an amazing family! Deanna I have read your book! Alot of what you wrote about having Breligh hit home with me. I too went through a lot. We are TRUE Favre Fans!!! My little guy is only 2 and he is 100% a Brett Favre Fan. He was 5 minutes away from meeting Brett last year. Was very sad he didn't. Brett when you couldn't give my daughter an autograph she started to cry! You then put down your sundae at the Radisson Hotel and gave her a hug! Thank you! She will always remember that you are a caring person. DO NOT let the media bring you down! They need to get a life. We truly miss you in Wisconsin! Hang in there! You are one strong Family!!! More people should follow in your beliefs! GO JETS!!!!!
Thank you for sharing you heart with us. I can relate with you in wanting to defend those you love, Deanna, as my husband's great character had been critized not long ago. Let me tell you what I learned, that sometimes as painful as it is, you have to sit back and let the Lord defend you and He will. The people that love y'all and have been fans of yours for all these years they will know the truth. My dad used to say "the truth always has a way of coming out. It may not be now, it may be later but the truth will come out." I guess is one of those times when you find out who your friends are. I have actually been praying for you guys since about June and I will contine to do so. It's not just something I say to people. I really mean I have been in prayer for you guys ever since all this started in the summer and I still pray for you guys maybe not every day, but at least every game.
Spot on - in a sport where so many players can get lost in the excess and the celebrity, your family is so refreshingly down to earth. Your husband is right - there is a time after football, and though there will be many changes your family is what will still be there through it all.
Your whole family has always been an inspiration to this Packers (and now Jets) fan!
Psalm 121 is a great comfort for me too. The Lord who made us is the same Lord who loved us enough to die for us and rise again to give us everlasting life. Our problems, great and small, will all disappear when Jesus' hands and feet in this world are called home together to be with him forever.
In Christ Jesus,
Pastor Jonathon Bakker
As a life long packer fan and growing up with Brett as the qb of my favorite team (i was 8 in 1992), the recent reports disappointed me greatly.
If the latest round of rumors are indeed either completely false or blown out of proportion, i truly feel sorry for Brett and those who care about him and hate to see him go through all this.
Brett Favre has given much to the NFL and the Green Bay Packers franchise. I'm so thankful for all the memories he has given packer fans. Watching him play the position of quarterback was a true joy. He is deserving of a legacy untarnished by false allegations.
He is and always will be my favorite player of all time.
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psalm 18:2
Deanna,
I'm so sorry you and your family are having to endure all of this pain! I've been a Packers fan for 12 years so I haven't known them without Brett until now and it's taking some definite getting used to. He was the face and the heart of the Green Bay Packers! But that's not what makes me watch him every Sunday. What draws me to him is the fact that he is an incredible football player who LOVES to play the game and has so much fun on the field! So wherever he goes, I follow!
And while he may have a little less gold these days (I have to laugh because lately I've noticed a little bit of gold peeking out of his collar every week...not sure what that is), he's still the same man with the same heart, the same talent, and the same passion for the game!
So you guys stay strong and know that God always has a bigger and better plan waiting around the corner. God bless you and the entire Favre family!
Kelly
P.S. Happy belated birthday, Brett!
Is Brett going to cry again now? Maybe tomorrow he can announce he is retiring. He'll un-retire by the end of the week anyway.
If you and Brett were so tired of the spotlight, and didn't want New York spotlight, you both should have stayed retired. Do you honestly think writing this kind of crybaby nonsense on a public blog is going to do anything to decrease the amount of attention Brett has been getting?
I'm so sick of both of you.
I have never really been a Packer fan, but I have always enjoyed watching Brett play. My mother is also a breast cancer survivor and I am very thankful for what you have done to help promote awareness and support. The Christian life is tough I pray that you will continue to cling to His Word each day...and that you will continue to write about how your faith in Christ, your purpose to serve Him, share His love and His Truth with others is playing out...you obviously are in a position to have a great influence over others. There will be a time when you will earn even bigger rewards than a trophy or a nice house...one day you will be rewarded for the amount of people that you were faithful in sharing God's Truth and His love. Fight on!
Due to the amount of people who feel their negative comments actually need to be heard. My advise is to moderate the comments on your blog. I know they will flood an email address but it really does help. And as I said you will find out who your friends are, unfortunately it's not always who we think and that hurts because you are real people just like us.
Thanks for your post! I grew up watching Majkowski and Favre and am 100% behind you. I think Glazer needs to account for his so-called sources...but that said all of us in the Cheeshead nation stand behind you.
i would like to say.....open your eyes, and stop telling lies......No way to bring your children up, lying.......brett is overated, and is selfish.......
Thanks Deanna for sharing your heart with us. My family will pray for you guys. Those rumors and hurtful things will pass away. Your family has bared so much fruit. Those fruits speak of the lives you have lived and the lives you have touched. Stay strong and stay close to the Lord. These time will continue to refine you guys into exactly who God wants you to be.
God Bless you, Brett and the Girls.
( I still like the Packers, but I am rooting for the JETS!!!!)
Hi Deanna and Brett,
I am still a Packers fan. I guess that mostly I am just disappointed by all that happened this offseason and the recent developments whether true or not. I just wish that the media would leave all of us alone. I just want to cheer for the Green and Gold and not have to have Aaron Rodgers constantly compared to Brett. He is a young guy that is trying his best. I hope that you are all well and happy in New York. Packer fans just want to move on also.
When you do retire, I hope that you will come back to Green Bay and have your number retired. Until then, I hope that the media leaves all of us alone.
A Proud Packers fan and shareholder
Deanna - this is a great post. I believe most people don't take much of what is being said in the media seriously. You guys sound like you are well grounded by keeping God and family first in your lives. Thanks for your honesty in this post.
I have been a Packer fan my entire life I grew up with Brett Favre as my favorite player and he continues to be my favorite player even though he doesn't play for my team. I thank Brett for all he has done for my father and myself. He gave us a huge bonding point as he continues to do so weather or not he has done the things the media has reported on it in no way takes away from the person he is. He has set examples for people to overcome adversity and to keep family close. These are things I will take from Brett's legacy in Green Bay regardless of the things the media reports.

I just want you to know that there are people that still support Brett unconditionally. Although we have been lifelong Packer fans, the management has disappointed us to the point we cannot support them at this time. My husband said it best when he said he feels Brett was treated so unfairly that he takes it personally. The fans were cheated because Brett gave the team the best shot at the SuperBowl this year. It also upsets us when people say hurtful things about Brett. Unfortunately there are people that want to create controversy and bring others down and we can't allow them to dictate our mood. You are right when you say you have to focus on God,your family and those close to you, because this is what truly matters in life. We know Brett's character and I admire you very much for standing up for him, because I would do the same. The strength you have is remarkable and Brett is very lucky to have you by his side. God Bless.
Bless your family. I live in the Green Bay area and there are many Jet Jerseys here with #4 on them. We love Brett.1 part of the St. Fransis prayer is "it is better to understand then to be understood."I had a situation that someone read me wrong. It is so hard but God knows our hearts and what I think of my self is more important than what anyone says or does. I wish you and your family all the best. Take all these good comments and hold them to you and your families heart. You are all loved very much here. One bad comment or apples can't spoil the bunch.Throw the bad ones out.Hope your upcoming holidays are blessed with many wonderful memories to hold on to.Love you all. TMAW
Hi Deanna - great post and you have every right to vent. I'm sure the transition to a new team/city/school/home hasn't been easy and my thoughts and prayers have been with you guys.
We can only control our own opinions and not those of others. I just wish those who think the media is always right would try to form their own opinions instead of just wanting to "stir the pot".
Time heals a lot of things and I know the true Packer and Brett Favre fans will ALWAYS have a special place in their heart for the Favre Family; filled with joy and excitement. We'll all have our memories and stories to tell for generations to come too.
BTW - thanks for signing the breast cancer magazine for me back in March. I appreciate it!
Brett & Deanna
Remember that there is a lot of fans here in Wisconsin that stand behind you and believe in you, I think I am your #1 fan. Stay strong and know that we think about you and pray for you everyday. This too shall pass.
We Love & Miss you here in Wisconsin. Always a fan...4 ever!!!
i will pray for you. as a wife and mother myself, i know it can be hard to be your loved ones "advocate". i often observe situations in daily life and wonder....where is that childs mom? or where is that mans woman? your family is blessed to have you.
My husband was 8 years old when he became a Brett Favre fan, since we have been married, I have become a huge fan, and now our 2 litte girls are fans as well. In the 7 games we have been to, our 3 year old has been to 3 (2 Packer games and 1 Jets game) and our 4 month old has been to a Jets game.
We love watching you play Brett, and look forward to watching you for at least 5 more years! :)
We love your beautiful family and look forward to the upcoming blogs.
Thanks for the work you guys have done and continue to do, you truly are so amazing!!
Favre family
you truly are an inspiration to all.
we here in the NJ/NY Community are behind you a 150%. the way the media twists things is so wrong. We all admire you and Brett for how honest and strong you both are.
we will always support you on and off the field and are thrilled beyond words that you are here in NJ and a members of the new york jets family!
You couldn't have said it any better. Stay strong!
From a packer fan for over 30 years, I say "who cares" to the accusations of Brett giving infomation to the Lions. Teams watch tapes every week, what matters is execution by the players. Brett will always be a packer and I certainly hope he can rejoin the packers in another role. But as a packer fan, I was ready to move on when Brett retired. We did not have much choice. I am glad that Brett did get to play again and hope he does well. The media will always be looking to Brett for news, good or bad. When he does retire, that level of media attention will diminish.
Always a Packers fan, now a temp Jets fan as well!
Farve family
you are an inspiration to all. we here in the NJ/NY community stand behind you all 150%, both on and off the field.
The way the media twists things is so wrong. It is just the media creating drama for no reason.
We know just the type of amazing person Brett is, and how special your family is. We are so proud to stand behind you, now and always.
We love having you here in NJ and as an integral part of our community, as well as love having you all as memebers of the new york jets community.
Hey Deanna,
Brett's lucky to have a lady like you. I never really believed the sabotage stuff. I'm no expert but if teams watch films and analyze other teams for a week I don't think a phone call is going to do a lot of damage. Even if it's a couple hours long.
GO PACK !!

Dear Favre Family,
I first came across this blog through Facebook and was so impressed with Brittany's eloquent writing skills. You definitely have the talent, Brittany, which I believe you got from your beautiful Mother. Just wanted to let you know that all of you have been in my prayers through all the changes you have gone through in the past seven months and now this new trial you are having to deal with. The media is heartless at times and seem to do whatever to get "THE STORY" even if there is no story!!! People who have written on this blog unkind words should just keep their thoughts to themselves and remember "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!" I truly feel for all of you because it is never easy having your loved one falsedly accused and unkind things said about them but most of all for sweet Breleigh who is still so young and impressionable.
Looking forward to when all of you can return to Hattiesburg where we love The Favre Family and are in awe of your great acts of charity, love & devotion to your family.
God Bless,
Aunt Nancy in Hattiesburg, MS
I just found this today through some other random site. Nice blog! And blogging is fun... I hope you enjoy it!
And yay! that the Jets won today!
Thank you for sharing with us. I am in California and have enjoyed watching Bret every week for as long as I can remember. He brings something to the game that no other football player does. Those that have watched know his character and would never consider believing all the negativity in the media. I have lost so much respect for some of those in the media. I would have to say that it sounds like you are lucky to be with the Jets...they truly seem to have big hearts in their organization.
Hi, I just wanted you to know that you are all missed in Green Bay, my husband I have season tickets and its just not the same no seeing Brett run out of the tunnel, We wish you all the best. We hope one day you will visit Green Bay. Good Luck Brett!!! We hope to get to go to a Jet game real soon and cheer you on, forever Brett Fans!!!!!!
Deanna,
I have been a Brett fan since he first started with the Packers. I don't believe a word of what the media says. They must have slow days sometimes. What is horrible is that someone would attack your family with such lies. Us fans who are true to you and Brett stand behind you. I am disgusted with the way he was treated by Green Bay and I can imagine that he would be angry but we the fans believe in him and know this is all lies. I am so happy to see him doing well with the Jets. The media should spend its time reporting on all the wonderful things your family does to help others. Now that would be worth reading! Stay strong and and just know that you have millions of people behind you. Once a Favre fan, always a Favre fan! God Bless You and Your Family.
Deanna and family,
Thank you for your heartfelt words. It is a comfort to know that "our Brett" has the love and support of you and your family through these rough times.
I would love nothing more than to take this opportunity to vent and rail against the unfairness of the CONTINUED media hype - but I will refrain. As my father used to say "The more you stir a stink the worse it smells!"
I will simply tell you that you are NOT alone nor are you forgotten in WI. This has been hard on your fans so I can't even imagine the toll it has taken on your family.
Stay strong, continue to love and support each other and let the truth take care of itself.
GO JETS!!!
P.S.
Brett - Please just have fun ...don't forget about that part. I would hate to think you have gone through all of this and are not enjoying yourself!
My best to you all...
I hope you know who you are truly as a couple and as a family has shone through the media limelight. There is a quality that i like to call "peace beyond understanding" that makes tears well in my eyes thinking of how I would feel if this were my husband. Those that watch and see how he plays for the love of the game know better. Your faith will continue to guide, direct, protect and bring light to those you touch with the genuine love for eachother & that crazy game. To them it's a sport, a scheme and way to prey. To Brett, it's a devotion to a love that is only surpassed by his love for his family.
Good for you for being his partner & protector.
"Do not tire in doing what is good, do not loose faith and give up, you will reap your just reward when the time is right"
I have to agree with everything Deanna has said...I have had the priveledge to spend time on a golf course with Brett (caddie sometime ago for him in Kohler, WI). There is not a mean bone in him, I'm sure of it. The only thing he seemed to talk about, wasn't football, but his family...it was a breath of fresh air to see him gush over averyone like he did. Here's to a great rest of the year to you all, and to your family for supporting each other like you do!
Dearest Favre family,
My heart, too, is heavy over this the latest media attack on a man whom I know would never do the same to another. My blood boils every time I hear more on the topic, a Favre fan can't help get angry at all this, so I can only imagine what this does to all of you, being his family. Sure, it would be easy to say 'oh, just let it roll off you.' But the truth of the matter is we are all human. This would have to bother anyone if in the same situation. But really, I am dumbfounded at all the sportscasters going on and on about this. The same sportscasters who have covered Brett's career for years. Have they forgotten who Brett Favre has shown himself to be? I mean really. Do they remember who they are talking about? He is the same guy who inspires so many, myself included, with the way he has lead his life both on and off the field. Whenever I am facing a difficult time in my life, and I wonder "how I am going to do it," I think of Brett's never give up, can do attitude, and also his strength, composure and the lighthearted joy he displays on the football field. There have been countless times throughout Brett's career where he has had a chance to show the world his character. It's unbelievable that even someone like Favre can be portrayed so negatively in the media. And, when it comes down to it, that is the saddest, most angering part of all of this. This happens over and over again to so many people that happen to be famous and it's so wrong. What does it say about American society that everyone seems to feed off this negativity. Don't they know about the law of attraction...or how about the golden rule. Everyone knows the golden rule. But bottom line, this will all die down before we know it. And besides that, I am going to choose to believe that the majority of Americans are sick of the negativity media seems to breed. Therefore, I am confident most everyone who knows anything about Brett Favre knows that this is all media fabricated and they are looking down on them rather than Favre. Just know that there are soooo many Favre fans out there that are joining you in defending Favre and letting people know how off base this all is. The same fans whom always have and always will defend the man who gave us soooo many years of wonderful football to watch. Favre rocks!
Signed,
an ever faithful Favre fan, Packer fan, and now Jets fan,
Becky
P.S. I started blogging after the birth of our daughter, Amaya. It was the perfect place to share pictures and stories with family and friends who live far away. But, funnily enough, during football season, Amaya had to share blogspot time with Favre and the Packers. It became the perfect place to chat about another one of my passions in life. So, it's super neat to now be leaving a comment on The Favre family blogspot. God Bless your beautiful family! And congrats on the win today Favre!
I have so much respect and admiration for you and Brett. Brett is my all time favorite sports player, not only because of his abilities as a quarterback but even more so because of his qualities as a human being. You both seem very giving and humble.
I live in Appleton, and while I have heard a few negative comments, by far the majority of people I know feel really bad about how the whole situation with Brett turned out, and continue to love watching him play (since many of the Jets games are broadcast here). Most people are smart enough to realize that much of what is reported in the media is not true. Unfortunately, the negative stuff makes for better ratings and that is what you hear about.
You are a very strong person to deal with all that is thrown at you as well as you do. I would not deal wtih it as well.
I wish the best for your family.
Isn't it great when you get to marvel at what your kids can do?
Please know that some of us will always believe in you and your family. Personally, I do not believe anything negative in the press about Brett. You are not alone in sticking up for him, because those of us who consider you to be family also stick up for him.
Don't be sorry for being human and wanting to vent, it would be almost inhuman not to.
We miss you guys but understand and wish you well as we continue to cheer not only Brett but his family on as well in all your future endeavors.
I hope you know that there are still some fans not only here is Green Bay but all over.
(P.S. - I just had my first mammogram!!!)
Deanna, I am so thankful to have been guided to your blog this evening. I am not your typical wife and Mom. I am a HUGE sports
fanatic. We have every channel DIRECTV offers AND every channel our cable company offers. If it's on TV and sports, we get it. I say all that to let you know that we have taken a special interest in Brett's transition and role with the Jets. I really can't convey to you how much our family hurt for you and yours over the ungrateful treatment of Brett by the Packers. However, as the poll on AOL tonight PROVES (and CBS sportsline, too) over 76% of the population would RATHER see Brett take the Jets to the playoffs than
the Packers. We all have a VERY bad taste in our mouths over the way the COACH and management of the Packers treated your family. I honestly was hoping that they wouldn't win a game. However, God has a plan and Brett will prosper in New York. He is loved and respected all over this country and I hope your family "feels" the support and love.

Deanna,
I just want you to know I have been a life long Packer Fan and it did Break my heart when they would not bring Brett back. I was a Packer fan way before Brett as a little girl I grew up in Texas and did not support that "D" team. :) But I heard the reports and it really upset me because the Brett Favre we have known all these years was not a vindictive man and would not have done the things they are accusing him of doing. I think he has built a great legacy and it will continue on and the Media will find someone else to harass soon. Just remember they are just a bunch of blow hards anyway. I will visit your foundation site my cousin who is just 39 years old just went through a battle with Cancer she is doing well now after a double mascetomy but it was a hard road. You have a beautiful family and a very good man just remember that. God Bless and continue to support your husband that is very important. But just for the record he looks better in Green and Yellow. I still keep up with his stats etc even though I will continue to support the Packers. God Bless and take care.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Moore

You are a great family!! Thank you for speaking up about the criticism towards Brett!! I am a Jets fan, but also a Brett Favre fan, I hate it. He is doing the best that he can!! I am sure this is bothering your youngest daughter which isn't fair. Keep the faith and I will keep on rooting for Brett and your family!!
Godspeed!! lonette59@sbcglobal.net
Thanks for this forum. I look at some of the forums on ESPN and others, and there is so much crap that people write - it is amazing how some people can be so full of hate. I'm glad this one has a better chance of actually reaching the family
Anyway, I have watched Brett since the beginning, when I lived in Wis.I'd follow him anywhere. I wish he would play forever - he brings an excitement to the game that nobody has done before or since. It is just plain fun to watch him play (although "watching" is hard this year, since the Jets aren't shown on the stations where I live - Colorado). I'm glad he is back.
I don't know what to say regarding all the criticism he seems to receive. I don't know what motivates people to trash him. All I can say is: when the trash talk comes, just keep playing Brett. Just play, play, play, and try to ignore the garbage that comes your way. It is truly a thrill, when Brett is out there doing something he loves so much. If the rest of us could approach our "jobs" with such enthusiasm, this world would be a much better place.
Best to all of you!
Tom from Colorado
Sometimes I feel Debbie and my life has run somewhat parallel to yours. I am a pastor and we planted a church 19 years ago. Last January I stepped aside and have experienced a myriad of emotions since. It is difficult to leave a place where you had invested your whole self for so long. I get it. And the very fact that you would take time to express your heart via this medium only testifies to the veracity of your blog entry. When we are human we feel. Thanks for taking the time.
As a Packers fan we miss Brett. As a member of the Wisconsin community, we miss having the Favre family as members. Stay strong, your real fans don't believe what is being written. God bless Green Bay, and the Favre family!
Dear Favre Family ...
My heart is heavy because of what you are going through. But take courage ! ! ! You know the truth ... your devoted fans and supporters know the truth ... even the people who are spreading these rumors know the truth ... and MOST IMPORTANTLY, God knows the truth ! ! ! What these drama hounds do not know, however, is that because of every thing that is said negatively about Brett, their words only fuel our prayers and support for you all the more.
I am a 62-year old grandmother from Kentucky and have been a Favre fan for many years. I love Brett ... I love the entire Favre family. Your example of Christian faith has served us well and I applaud each of you. No one else in the "football community" has been a more shining beacon. I point Brett out to my grandsons as a sports role model.
We each have a message to convey in this world. Your message is coming through loud and clear. I thank you for "standing in faith." You are remembered in my prayers and my love and respect grow for you each day ! ! !
Your family values sound amazing! People put more energy into the negative then they do the positive and this is sad.. Keep your chin up.. Your husband has always been a positive role model to all his fans. You have a beautiful family..
In reading your blog I learned you are looking for something good to do in NY/NJ area...We are from Staten Island, NY. I am asking you to please!! look at being a spokes person for pediatric organ donation. My son is waiting for a life saving bowel transplant. Withoout this transplant he will not survive. So many children die each year waiting for this gift of life.. We need a strong positive voice to raise awareness. Not many people think of children when you think of organ donation or transplant. Please!!!! visit his site and read his amazing journey www.cotafordevin.com
We are working with an amazing grass roots non for profit organization called The Children's Organ Transplant Association.. They are wonderful people who make sure no child goes without transplant do to financial need. We need a strong voice to raise awareness.
Never been much of a Farve or Packer fan. You see, I am a Viking fan from Minnesota. But your beautiful family and faith is something to truely admire. As far as the media goes - I can't imagine it being any worse that what we have today in the media. They are out to damage people, our Christian values, our focus on the right things. We just need to pray for them!!!
Dear Brett, Deanna and family:
I want you all to know how much you meant to us in Packerland. Do not let the idiots in the news or anonymous dolts tell you otherwise or make you believe otherwise.
Brett gave the team its pride back. Trust me I remember when it was embaressing to be a Packer fan. But for 16 years we had the best Quarterback ever. Some less intelligent shallow people might think otherwise, but, most of us will never forget the 16 years we had.
Just don't let the vultures in the media, or bitter anonymous posters get to you. Brett, Deana we got your backs. You gave us so much and we won't ever forget it.
As of now I am a Jets fan. The Packer's have ruined my faith in the organization. I thought we were different. Apparently thats not the case anymore.
Stay tough. You are all in our prayers....And Brett good luck hunting this year. Deana and girls have a blast in New York. Coolest city in the world!
SMJ
Dear Favre Family:
I would like to leave YOU with a verse:
I can do all things through HIM who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13
It's probably easier said than done, but this too shall pass. I think people are so bothered by the fact of Brett parting ways with the Packers that they will do and say just about anything to give your family back the hurt he seemingly caused them.
And the media, well this is nothing new. They live for the news, and if there isn't any, they make it up. Easy for me to say because it isn't my family. I understand your concerns. It seems you have quite a strong family. That's the best place to start. The next best thing is all your friends, your true friends, who will continue to support you all. And then there's the fans. Only your loyal and true fans will still believe in you and let all the bad publicity out there roll right past them.
But I can see where it would hurt, and am truly sorry for all that your family has endured. I pray that God will continue to watch over you all and give you the courage to be strong through this time and bless you with a new and exciting future.
Be strong and stand together as a wonderful family. Don't lose that, and continue to count your blessings each and every night!
Much love and good wishes to the Favre family.
The Kristiansens :)
I think I can still be a Packer Fan and a Brett fan!!!! I'd never paid any attention to the Jets before, but now I do.
My screen saver on my PC is still Brett in the snow after a game. My mother absolutely adored Brett! She saved every full page picture that came out in the Wisconsin State Journal and taped it to the door coming in from the garage. She has quite the collection. She just passed October 1st, but I know she read your book and was very impressed and inspired by it. I'll have to bring it back with me the next time I go home.
Blessings ......
Deanna, Brett and Family,
I can only imagine the pain you and your family must be enduring with the media gossip and criticism (because I feel sick to my stomach when I hear it too, believe it or not). However, you must keep in mind that these so called "people" (they're more like animals) are only looking for something to write about...looking for a way to make Brett Favre, the legend, not seem as perfect, normal and as amazing of a person that he, in fact, is. Brett Favre is, and always will be, the most respected person is football history and the best quarterback to ever play the game. Regardless of what the media says about him, you and your family know the truth about the man you love so dearly. The people that criticize his decision to come back to football have obviously never played a sport in their lives and have no clue what it's like to let go of something that has been such a huge part of their life for so long. You must always remember that no matter what the media says, the MAJORITY of the nation (and even in London, since I noticed people in London wearing Favre jerseys)love, and will always love, everything that Brett Favre is about...his character, the way he plays the game, his love for the sport, his enthusiasm, and most importantly, his incredible, unconditional love for his family. Ignore the media...their job is to make the good look bad and make a story out of nothing...but it will fade.
I am a Jets fan and always have been, and feel MORE than LUCKY to have a quarterback like Brett Favre on my team. I have always been a Brett Favre fan as well, and I am glad that I can finally wear a jersey with his name, number and a Jets logo on it...for the best quarterback to ever play the game is on MY TEAM!
Go Brett and the Jets!!!
God Bless!!!
Deanna you are a very attractive female. Brett should thank his lucky stars he met you . Hopefully he can guide the Jets to the superbowl . It would make all of new york forget Joe Namath
Hello Favre Family!
I wanted to encourage you all and let you know you are not alone. I am the daughter of a coach and wife of a football coach. God uses times like these not to show our character, but to reveal His. There is a blog to support wives of sports www.fcatrophywife.blogspot.com. May God use your family to further His!!! You are prayed for:)
We've also been transplanted to NJ from Wisconsin and are thrilled to have you here! It has been an unexpected treat to be able to root for Brett on a "local" team and see him play again. Change is hard, and your being here has helped us. I was happy to read that the Jets organization has been so good to you both.
The Favre legacy will be Brett's accomplishments both on the field as a player and off the field as a man, but it will also include your strenth and the grace of your open and loving heart. Don't let any small-minded negativity get you down. It's just not worth it.
Our best wishes and appreciation to you and your family.
Thanks for your words - I think most of us will always see Brett as a hero who has the support of strong and loving family. A great example for all of us. I've written about it myself... http://familybecomesus.blogspot.com/2008/09/monday-morning-quarterback_28.html
all the best.
This is too bad. The world seems to search out negativity even if it has to be invented.
Your family has shared so much with the city of Green Bay and the fans of the Packers. We will always see you as one of our family and I hope you will always feel that way.
I have always been a Packers fan as my mom, born and raised in DePere, brainwashed me (thankfully) from Day One.
I am and will always be a Brett Farve fan, not just because of his talent, but for his attitude.
He is a lucky man to have such a wonderful family.
Please remember that the media does not speak for the significant number of fans who care about the Favre family. There are MANY of us who have been disgusted and angered by the way Brett has been treated by the media and by the Packers. You have had my support & respect since the first time I saw Brett on the Packer sidelines. I wish you all the best!
DeAnna thank you for your insight into this terrible mess the media has stirred up. My husband and I daily defend Brett to our co-workers, friends and family. For awhile we felt like we were the only ones left in Green Bay that cared (or at least in our circle of friends). The last day you both left Green Bay I drove past your house thinking I was the only person who knew where you lived, boy was I wrong! I felt so bad driving by and taking part in all of the commotion, but then I thought to myself, no I am supporting the greatest man to ever play professional football. I felt such a strong connection to your family after I read your inspiring book. I have tagged my favorite spots and re-read them over and over. From the bottom of my heart thank you for enriching our lives and sharing your love with us all! My husband and I even had a "Brett Favre" Day the day he decided to retire (back in March) - it truly was a sad day and we felt like someone had died. We sported our #4 jersey's and watched the press conference more than once. The day he decided to play again, was the best day ever! We were very sad at how it all went down as well. We watch all of the Jets games when they are aired, yet we will watch the Packers (mostly b/c my husband wants to see them lose b/c he is still bitter). I pray for your family and for those that have nothing better to do than rip people apart. Those people are swimming in a sea of sin. God bless you and your family and thank you for all your christian words! Have a nice day and welcome to the blogging world!
I am entirely thrilled to have found your blog!
My heart goes out to you, Deanna. I am a fierce protector of all things I care about, Brett Favre being one of them. My heart aches when I hear some of the things being said about him; when I see his face as he tries to defend against such ridiculous accusations. As his wife, I know it has to hit you so much harder, and I truly am sorry.
Brett has given us all such a fantastic ride these past two decades. His family, his friends, and his true fans will never forget that, and we look forward to more years of Favre-Greatness from the man we've all come to love and respect. The naysayers will eventually tire out, and goodness will prevail!!
Warmly
-a loyal Cheese Head who now also roots for the Jets!!
Stand up for your faith in God at all times and in His Son Jesus Christ, and the truth will set you free. I have been a lifelong Bears fan, and was actually sad to see you all leave Green Bay. Knowing that the Packers had to play the Bears twice every year, I knew I would get to see a legend play and a wonderful, God-fearing, family first man. Please pass along to Mr. Favre to continue living the life that God calls him to lead, being a great example to his family and to the thousands of fans he has through his gifts in football. Having been through the death of my two-year old son and a divorce within three months of each other, I know how tough life can get, even when you are not in the 'spotlight.' I can not imagine the endless criticism that your family, and especially Mr. Favre receives. God's blessings to you and your family!
Matt in Cherokee, Iowa
I am not a Packer Fan, In Fact I am a Seattle fan. I have always been impressed with the way that Mike Holmgren describes your husband. I have been bothered by how Brett has been treated. In this me first, dance in the End Zone era of football I loved knowing that Brett would tell it how it was. He would tell the primadonna's to stop thinking about themselves or their contract that is still 3 years away, and play football, the game they love. Brett loves the game of football, that is what has impressed me about your husband. Thanks for speaking up. You have a wonderful family.
Deanna, you and Brett and your family rock! When a pink #4 Jets Jersey becomes available, I'll be the first to buy one.
God bless,
Terri Jones of Temecula, CA
Although I am a Patriots fan I wanted to leave a comment. The media loves to build up our Celebrity's just to tear them down. The local press is the worst on the hometown players. All ican hope for you and your family Mrs. Farve is that you all remain strong
Don't let what the media and the other people say bother you . Stand on luke 10:19 and trust in GOD alone. You are a great quaterback . We as christian will pray for you and your family and trust GOD to shine his light upon you so let ignorance and stupid things fall by the way side and walk in his light and take care of your family that is always me important than a job . Thanks for all the great years john jones
Brett and Deanna - know you are loved. There are many of us in Wisconsin that refuse to believe the rumors and stand by our #4. There are those of us who know who he is and was and stand up for him at every opportunity - refusing to let people talk bad about our quarterback.
Shari
Deanna,
I want you to take the time to visit this address and listen to the song in the video...the words come with it. It has been a song my and my wife of almost 25 years have always enjoyed because basically...it's us. The address is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mmxAMF-W90 In the meantime, hang in there. I'm 51 and suffering from rheumatoid arthritis but I still keep a great perspective on life. The world is full of naysayers...and it always will be. Take good care of yourselves. Bob
I was a Packers fan because of Brett Favre, and now I am a Jets fan because of him. I think that he has done a great job handling all of the drama and unwarranted negative remarks that people have made. Brett has stayed strong through all of it, and is lucky to have such a supportive family behind him. Thank you, Brett, for giving me a reason to love football. God Bless you and your family.
Deanna:
Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent distractions. The Farvre Family is a class act, it is to bad about the distractions and obstacles you have been put through but you have your priorities int he right place. May you all enjoy good health in your future years and continue to be an example for us all.
Karl
Deanna, you are so very right. Looking at the big picture, the little hurtful things being spat out right now are completely meaningless. And family IS the ultimate "importance" in life.
Your first blog entry was very well written. Hats off to you.
Yes, like those that have gone before me here, I am a Wisconsin resident and have survived breast cancer at this point in time. Your family has put a lot of yourselves into helping others. And no mean words will ever be able to take that away.
We all know how much you love Green Bay and us as fans. No tool in the media will ever change that. We have been through your times of hardship along with times of joy. Even though your eating cheesecake and not cheese, we'll still think of ya'll as we eat our deep fried cheesecurds. Thanks to your whole family for what you did for the Packers and our town.
You said it all so well. I continue to support Brett Favre and the Favre Family.
You all are so great--keep up the great work in your foundations!
Best Wishes to all,
Gayla
Hello Favre family,
I have been a starting quarterback for the past 8 years through high school and college, and through that entire time Mr. Favre has been an inspiration to me in both how he plays on the field, as well as how he conducts himself off the field. There are stark similarities between Mr. Favre and I, both in the way that we play the game as well as our personalities. I would like to take this opportunity to see if Mr Favre would like to go hunting with me. I am from the northeast and enjoy the outdoors a great deal, and think it would be a great time. Thank you, and take care.
You and your family have my support. Pray for those that belittle and malign you because it reveals the need for God in their hearts.
I follow these things very little. But an AOL story caught my eye. It's a shame more people don't read your blog and get the whole story. Sadder yet that they don't realize the truth that God and family are higher priorities than the job.
God bless you with His strength.
Favre family- You are such an inspiration to so many people. Brett, you allowed me to truly love football. I hate winter and I went to your final GB playoff game just because I knew it could be the last time I would have the chance.....and I just had to see it.
Deanna, I just finished your book. I have not read a book since I had to back in school, but I could not put yours down!
I was always taught that if you have nothing nice to say then to keep it to yourself. I wish people still taught their children that rule....enough with the tasteless remarks.
For all the memories you have given us Favre fans.....THANK YOU and keep them coming. Go JETS!
Thank you for publicly speaking out against all of the nonsense that has sorrounded Brett lately. I know it's hard to say anything for fear it will just fuel a fire. Trust me, there are plenty of people here (WI) that have transplanted our attention to NY and the Jets because we appreciate how Brett plays and lives.
My wife is from Argentina, doesn't follow sports, but started watching football (the American variety) last year because I like to watch Brett. Now, even though she doesn't drink and hates cigarette smoke, she even lets me drag her to a sports bar so we can see the games.
Please remind Brett that no second-guessing is necessary when it comes to the decision to go to New York.
At the time, everyone certainly wanted things to work out in Green Bay, but the decision to go to New York is exciting too.
Tell Brett that the only thing that could have caused me to question his character is if he didn't go to play somewhere - anywhere - when he still wanted to play (and, of course, had your family's blessing to do so). I know I appreciate another year of watching.
God blesses those who seek him and never turns his back on those who rever him. Place everything in His hands and peace of the soul will follow.
Wishing you and your family all of the best.
Thank you so much for your post Deanna. I had the privelege of meeting Brandi and Bonita on a Packer cruise 2 years ago. I enjoyed being able to visit with them and learn more about your family.
My prayers are with your family as you endure these trying times. There are those of us who love you all and only wish the very best for you...we pay NO attention to the rumors. Have a SUPER day!
I have been a Brett Favre fan for most of my life. I continue to cheer for the Packer's, but I have started cheering for the Jet's as a continued Brett Favre fan.
Keep your faith strong and your family will weather this storm as well as the past storms.
I'm so glad I found this blog. Deanna you are an amazing women as well as a writer. Brit you have done a wonderful job.
Deanna,
I completely agree when you say that the jersey has changed but the man has not! It is also very refreshing to not only see the strong Christian values your family shares but also to see you stick up for your husband and to defend him. I am sure that he truly appreciates your love and dedication to him and the world could use more wives like you
Oh, and "anonymous", if you are so tired of Brett and Deanna Favre why are you reading their family blog? That is very odd.
As a long-time Green Bay Packer fan, I am sick and tired of that group trying to bring Brett down. The game of football and this world are better for the likes of Brett Favre. Stay strong Favre family and know you have legions of supporters in this country.
Personally, you need to keep your head up. Life in NY is tough but when Brett has broke back a winning attitude to a a team that definitely needed it. You guys have done so well, please don't let these bogus media rants effect you. It is just a bunch of snakes in the grass waiting for the opportune moment to jump on you and Brett so they can make a little controversy and make some more cash. Be stronger than that because I know you are. Sportsroids.com wants to salute the Farve Family for being honest people. You are a inspiration to us all.
Favre family...I am truly inspired by all of you and have been a huge supporter of both Brett & Deanna's foundations and their other charitable works.
I WAS a loyal Packer fan from the time I was 8 and attended my first game at Lambeau Field with my aunt and uncle. I am now 37. Brett has been so wonderful to watch over the length of his career with the Packers. I have been a Brett Favre fan since the first time he took the field there. I am so disappointed and disgusted with the way Ted Thompson handled this entire situation with Brett! I am now a die hard Jets fan and will loyaly follow Brett wherever he goes. I am so happy he didn't leave football as we all would have missed watching him every week as he runs around like a little kid with that big grin on his face!
Just remember that Brett's fans are Brett's fans no matter where he is, and we all love and respect your entire family for having shared him and so much of yourselves with all of us for 17 years. We all know the truth of Brett's character. The rest is all noise.
I will continue to pray for your family while you are enduring this unfair treatment.
I simply don't know how your family does it. All the money in the world would not be worth what you've had to put up with the last few months. Stay strong and remember there are a lot of folks who know that this is just a bunch of non-sense created by the media to make a buck. It's a sad day in WI when I have to moniter the sports page from my sons so they don't read such garbage about their favorite QB. This would break their hearts even more than the trade did. Take Care & Stay Strong !!
Over the past several years, I've truly come to believe that there is very little in the press that you can believe. I think someone else hit on this, they are just trying to sell their papers or shows and don't care what untruths they have to use to do it. Your friends, family and the people and fans that know of all the great things you did while in Wisconsin for the Packers and for those in need, truly believe in you and wish you all the best. I somehow find myself watching more Jets games these days. Not because I'm a Jets fan (still a Packer fan), I just love watching Brett play.
Best Wishes to your Family!
You are sadly missed in Wisconsin..
"H"
I just "happened" upon this post while looking for something else. I don't believe in that, though.;) "Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might."Eph. 6:10 and "When a man's ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." Prov. 16:7 are two verses that came to my mind. You will be in my prayers. I don't normally post to people I don't know, but felt compelled to today.
I was just made aware of this blog from the PPCC message boards. I am so happy to see this blog. It really is sad how the media can treat such a wonderful wholesome family, just know that you and your family are an inspiration to all of us. You guys will always be #1 in Wisconsin! I can't say thank you enough!
I've lived in Wisconsin since 1992, and have grown over the years to admire Brett not just for his football ability, not just for the joy he brings with his enthusiasm on the field, not just for his legendary sense of humor, but also for his character. Many people here are bitter and angry over the way the media and the Packers treated Brett. We think that when Brett announced that he wanted to play this year, they should have thrown him a parade! Brett and Deanna, you will always have a very large, loving, loyal, extended family back here in Wisconsin. Thank you for sharing your precious selves with us over all these years. The minute some sportswriter or Packer head coach questions Brett's character, we realize that they don't know Brett at all. We miss you more than words can say.
Hi Deanna...Well, I happened upon your blog through the blog:
http://www.fcatrophywife.blogspot.com/
{Trophy Wives}
I am often around your family here in MS. I am the coach's wife of Dylan's team at St. Stan. I recently met Brett's mom and family and of course brothers who are on the sidelines and my son and Myah are the same age. I'd love to meet you if you're ever in town.
Anyway...Thanks for being an encouragement to all coaches' wives across the country. I'll be praying for you and your family in this journey.
God Bless You,
Elizabeth

Don't worry, Favre family...God is still in control and those of us that have followed Brett, your family and his career over the years know that the media is trying to continue to feast off the offseason craziness. We still love you guys and believe in what you're doing and pray for you!
Thank God Brett & the Girls have such a strong faithful woman in their life.
I stumbled across this blog and was so excited as I sit in my BRETT FAVRE ROOM in Green Bay!!
Thank you Favre's for all you have done for this city and state.
I think it is a travesty what the media is doing in this town to Brett... It litteraly makes me sick!
STAY STRONG #4 Family!
YOU ARE LOVED & APPRECIATED!!!
GO PACK GO JETS!

Hey ... long time Jets fan ... I think you should know that most of us are truly grateful to have your husband playing for our team. he brings integrity and heart to an organization that sorely needs it. The media can be tough, but please know that they do not represent the majority of fans here in NJ. Brett is an inspiration to all the players around him and as a fan I can tell you that I never doubt his intentions, ability or drive. Anyway ... enough spouting off ... I just thought you might want to hear from a real Jets fan (30 years). Enjoy NYC this holiday season ... the city is a great place to be in December. =)
Deanna and family,
We are a football family. We are Brett Farve fans and now we are Jets fans. My husband coached football for 30 years. He was Ted's high school football coach.
I just happen to graduate with Ted Thompson. I am bitter. We put all our Packer gear out for the trash after all that came down this summer. We just spent a week at Disney World and every one of our guys wore a Jets/Farve cap. Out little guys, Jets jerseys.
There has never been a player that so exemplified the spirit of football. I love his love for the game. I love his press conferences and his answers to very dumb questions by the New York press.
We bought the NFL ticket this year, just so we could watch Brett and the Jets in every game.
I have also read your book and it was so inspirational.
Hang in there... you are not only married to a nice guy, you are married to the greatest QB in the league, regardless of his age.
Best wishes for the rest of the season.

hello, my name is jason and im from scotia New York. im very sorry for what they are saying about brett. Its crushing to hear that to me because i know brett would not do that. i been watching brett ever sence i was around 7 years old and now in turning 19 years old.
good luck to you and brett and family..

Deanna, I was so upset when I found out about the lies the media was spreading about Brett. It literally ticked me off and I wanted to somehow let your family know that my husband and I never questioned Brett's integrity. We waited to hear what Brett had to say and knew that what the media was saying just didn't sound like "the Brett we know." I admire your resilience through everything and you guys have handled it as best you can. I've actually felt very heavy for you and your family wishing I could do something about it. We've been doing our best to stick up for Brett and tell people the truth. There are some people out there that never really knew Brett, but the true Favre fans know better and will continue to support and believe the best of him. My husband and I pray for strength and encouragement for Brett and your family often. God bless!
What a wonderful family you have. I am so envious and hope to find what you have one day. As for the negative press, I can't imagine what it must be like for your family. I am one of Brett's biggest fans and it just breaks my heart that they target him that way. His loyal fans know better and would never believe it. Brett being the man he is could never and would never do they things they are saying he did. But in the world of 24 hour news, they have to have something to fill their time. I am from Wisconsin and want you to know that football for me will never be the same. I try to watch as many Jets games as I can. Please know how much we miss you all and consider you our family. And we always will. Best wishes to you all and remember how many people are on your family's side.
I couldn't agree with you more! I know I'm just another random fan, but you and your family will ALWAYS have my support. No questions asked. Not only have I loved every second of being a Brett Favre fan, but I loved that you inspired me through your words and especially your book. It was moving.
So, just thought I should say, THANK YOU for all that you do <3
DEANNA - PLEASE READ We were at the airport to welcome you. Afterwards my lil girl,in her cheerleader's outfit & soaked from 3 rainy hrs turned to me and said, "Mom today is the greatest day of my life - a football legend waved to me" She truly thinks Brett waved just at her - it's a moment she’ll never forget. Given a REAL choice you'd be here. We miss you guys-Go Jets
Thank you so much for the insight into your family. I stand by Brett - as much as I, along with thousands of others, hated to see him leave the Packers - I cheer him on as a New York Jets. I with nothing but the best for you and your family!
Brett is the media's flavor of the week.. as tough as it is if you can endure it for awhile... someone else in the NFL will do something stupid and you all will be left alone again.
God Bless!
NO matter what you might read or hear WISCONSIN MISSES BRETT FAVRE OUR QB!!!!!! I'm glad I found your family blog & your daughter does a great job with it. My best wishes to all of you!
p.s. don't let this media stuff get you down... !
I am not sure you got the last comment, but my mother in law uses that psalm 121 for her strength verse. I love it but it is also in a song by Casting Crowns "I will Praise You in This Storm." God Bless.
Deanna, Brett and family,
I have been a Packer fan since the day Brett Favre started as QB in Green Bay. I never watched football, but there was always something special watching number 4 on the field and I became a huge football fan because of Brett Favre for that I am very thankful.
The true Brett Favre fans will always stand behind him, we know what kind of a person he is. So don't let the media get you down, they have nothing better to do then come up with a good story and run with it. I for one am truly tired of all the negatives being said about my idol (Brett Favre).
I am now a Jet's fan and am enjoying this season watching him have fun. He is still the best QB to play the game of football. I for one hope he doesn't retire yet he still has it in him to play at a high level, win or loose I am still having fun watching you Brett.
Deanna, you are such an inspiration to everyone, it must be hard on you and your family to hear all these negatives about the man that you love, just know that you have fans all over the world that are behind you guys cheering you on.
The saddest day for me was when the Favre family left Green Bay for the last time. I was watching TV with tears rolling down my eyes. But the good news is Brett is still playing football and that's all that matters, he is doing something that he loves. I for one am thankful he is still playing.
I wish you all the very best and just know you have fans that care and are behind you cheering you on.
God Bless
Price of fame I guess... one difference I see is Brett is not the same man who worked his butt off during the off-season getting his aged-beyond-its-years body ready for another grueling season.
Good luck to the Favre family.
While it's true, Packer games just don't seem the same anymore at Lambeau without ol' Brett trotting out, there are many of those among us in Packerland who still think good thoughts about you and your family. We're still the same skeptical bunch when it comes to negative press about things we care about. Hopefully it doesn't take a $20 million dollar incentive package to get y'all back up for visits in the future. Even though it's for sale now, Favre's will always have a home in Green Bay, Wisconsin. You know where the key is- let yourselves in at any time. :)
I am glad that Brett explained his point of view regarding the phone conversation with Matt Millen. I am saddened on how the whole thing went down this year and hope that years from now that Brett will feel like he is a Green Bay Packer. Brett has done alot for Wisconsin and the Packers but hasn't Wisconsin and the Packers done alot for him?
Nick B
Dear Deanna:
What can I say, besides "DITTO". Most of the Press, especially the sports reporters, are mindless morons, and are seriously jealous of the most amazing man to ever play in the NFL, Brett Favre, and his equally amazing wife, Deanna Favre.
Deanna, I was so glad to see you respond to this riduculous, mean-spirited story - I'd expect this from the national enquirer!
I have to believe that if he were to read your blog, that even the classless jerk that wrote that story would feel some shame, although I doubt he'd be hard pressed to admit it; class, character and dignity are not exactly qualities abundant among the ranks of bottom-feeding garbage like him.
Keep the faith, and know that there are so many of us pulling for you, all over the country. We love you!
Pelle
p.s. Did you notice that the jerks with the negative comments on this blog didn't have the guts to leave their names? To them I say: Why don't you just go ahead and sign your name: COWARD.
Deanna, please tell Brett that we knew when the reports first came out that he was not capable of such behavior. Plus Brett had no conflicts at Green Bay with the players, coaches, or fans. Subsequent stories stating otherwise are wrong.
The goal of the media is to draw attention to itself, and it will do so even if it means slandering the character of someone like Brett, who could not do such things.
Brett is in a great situation now. Mangini, Tannenbaum, and the Jets players love him. Mangini is a man of understanding and patiently works on teaching his players rather than berating them for not creating the results he wanted.
Win, lose, or draw, Brett has a golden opportunity here if he will not let the media get to him. Their game analysis is extremely shallow and frequently wrong, and fails to take into account that football is a team sport and that every play happens around 11 players, not 1.
God is already using this situation for His good. Some have been encouraged in the faith through your response. Keep the faith, and remember, Jesus carries us through the hard times and manipulates things himself so that we can just respond in love and patience. Even in the storm miracles happen.
...Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me...
God bless!
Glen
Thanks for all the years and joy you and Brett gave us in Green Bay. It's been tough to get used to the change, but nothing stays the same forever. Good luck, Deanna.
First of allmy response - to "anonymous" who wrote on the blog 10/26 at 4:25 a.m. You obviously are not sick of Brett and his family since you are reading their blog at 4:25 in the morning!
I have been a Packer fan my entire life, but cannot go all out rooting for them as I usually do this year. I want then to have a poor season and get rid of Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy. I blame these two for the media spin and lack of respect shown to Brett and his family.
When Michael Jorda wanted "un-retire", you didn't see Phil Jackson saying, "Hmmm, well I might give you a chance to try out for my team." No, he said, "here's your jersey, welcome back." Because Jordan, like Brett, sells tickets and wins games!
Thank you Brett for the gift you bring to the game of football and thanks to your family for all they endure in order for you to do that!
I'm rooting for the Jets this year!
Tell Brett not to worry. His legacy is safe in our home. My husband is a die-hard Vikings fan; I am a die-hard Packers fan. Both of us are now watching the Jets, as well, simply because of Brett. My husband actually bought me a total of 3 Favre jerseys (one signed), both because he loves me and knows I respect Brett, as well as the fact that he, as a college football player and huge fan, respects how Brett plays with heart.
Family must always come first. And as long as you and Brett are putting that first, who cares what anyone else says? A job is a job; family is forever.
Brett will always be known as one of the best QB's of all time.

Brett , Deanna & family, You are loved much more than you will ever know. The people that said stupid things did not have the courage to sign their name. This simply means they do not count ;-)
Please take the strength God has to offer you, and the deaf ear for those that speak cruelly, and the intelligence you have been given, and continue with your head high, and your heart filled with happiness! You are blessed! You are loved! Love & Hugs, Ginger & family
I am not sure what to make of the latest drama between Brett and the Packers. I wished things had ended better especially given the uniqueness of both.
Nonetheless, do what your heart tells you to do. When you live long enough, you learn to go with that and to trust your instincts.
Deanna,
I just got done watching your interview on E:60, all I have to say is that you are one amazing women. Your strength and faith is absolutely amazing. You have truly inspired me. Best wishes to you and Brett and your girls, you all deserve the best. Once a packer fan, NOW a J E T S Fan.
First of all, I want to extend my prayers to you and the rest of the Farve family!
Try to hang in there with all of the media things...Know that the true fans know that Brett would never act that way!
God bless!
Hello Favre Family!!
What a wild roller coaster we all have been on! Thank you for sharing your comments here so we can express our thoughts to you and the family. This is very kind of you to be open with your feelings and allow all of us share our thoughts as well.
I remember the day Brett announced his retirement! I was at work and the waiting room was filled with about 50 patients. We were all gathered around the 19" inch TV. You could have heard a pin drop. We were all crying! Seriously, even the men!!! I bought every magazine, newspaper, and printed every story on the web! Good Lord, I was sad!! My sweet family and friends called to see if I was alright!! :) Brett was the topic of conversations all over. No matter where I went, the conversation always had something to do with Brett's retirement! As soon as I heard the date for the Packers retiring Brett's #4, I bought tickets to the game. Never mind that I didn't pay my bills for the month, I was going to Green Bay on September 8th!!! :)
Then, the exciting day came when we heard that Brett might be coming back!!! I jumped up and down like a kid!! Praise the Lord, he is coming back!!! Once again, I bought up all the local newspapers, etc!!! I went to all the sports message boards and went crazy posting exciting thoughts!!!
I can't even talk about the rest because it is all too unreal to believe. :( I went to the Packer game in September, sat in the stands looking at all the #4 jerseys, t-shirts and signs. When the team came on the field and Brett wasn't there I felt like I couldn't breathe. The jets flew above us before the start of the game and I started to cry!! All I could think of was that it was all too much bear!!
I am sad that Brett is no longer part of the Green Bay Packers, but I am happy that he is still playing the game he loves so much!! We are lucky enough here in Milwaukee to see the Jets play almost every week! I never paid any attention to the Jets before this season. I like them too! They seem like a nice group of guys!!
I admire your entire family so much! Thank you for sharing in good times and sad times. It is a very interesting bond that we all share, isn't it?
When the latest stuff hit the news here in Milwaukee, I wrote letters to the local stations and told them to knock it off! Haha, that worked, didn't it?? I was upset because no one even tried to find out the truth before they went crazy with the stories.
I will continue to write more on your blog, so I hope that you keep it up and running! I am enjoying reading other people's comments as well! There are a lot of kind and heartwarming messages.
Thank you SO much for everything! Most of all, thank you for sharing your family with all of us! :) xox

Deanna and Brett -
Deanna I know you have helped mold Brett into the man he is today. I as a man know when you have your wife supporting you there is nothing you cannot do. Maybe that is why Brett has started so many games in a row. Your love for him has made Brett "Iron Man" and not just human. Through the last 10 years, listening to Brett and watching him play has fascinated me. I love his charisma on and off the field.
Thank you for loving Brett, it makes us love Sundays when he enters the field, it does not matter which one as long as he is on it. Take care of you and your family, I will be praying for you all
Great verse Deanna -- I needed to read it about my own storms.
Good luck to your family. Thank you for coming on here and telling people about Brett and the rumors.
I think the rumors happen because people miss his smiling face here in Green Bay.
You are an amazing woman -- I hope that one day when I am married (far, far, far into the future), I can be as loyal and supportive as you have been to Brett!
Dear Deanna,
I saw the E:60 piece on ESPN and commend you for your candor, sharing your story. I have been blogging in favor of your husband, you and your family, mostly since the retirement. My most recent reaction and defense of your family is here...

Deanna - I started to write you a letter after I read your book a while back. Then all the whoopla started about Brett. I wanted to tell you how I admire your faith and courage. You know you still have people in Wisconsin who continue to follow Brett & his family. Now I have 2 teams to watch on Sunday; a welcomed event. Keep the faith; "there by the Grace of God go I..." Love ya! Bonnie (Niagara, Wisconsin)
Many blessings to you and your family. May Jesus give you much strength to handle all the hard things thrown your way. Thanks so much for sharing your heart on here. So sorry for those that do not respect you, Brett and your family.
God is honored in your faithfulness. Keep going at it!
Ryan
It is truly unfortunate in this day and age that people just can't move on in life. The accusations they have made towards Brett are ridiculous. Any "normal" person would see that. We as true fans, who have grown up with you both and have shared every Sunday and then some with your family are just as hurt and upset. I know with your spiritual strenth and the foundation that you and your family have, you will overcome this and become stronger because of it. Both you and Brett are extremely classy people and real gems and the football world as well as the everyday world are extremely lucky to have such wonderful people as you both. I am a native of Green Bay and will always be a Fan of the Packer team, as well as a loyal and true fan of Brett's forever. Thank you for being a part of our lives and for letting us be apart of yours. God bless you and your family! We love you.
Favre Family -
It is true. Growing up in Wisconsin I feel as if your family is very connected to my own. Through all the ups and downs of Brett's career, I felt I was there along the way. The first time I ever saw my dad cry, it had something to do with a Brett Favre moment.
The events of this past summer weighed very heavy on all the hearts of my family, friends and neighbors, but probably not as heavy as on your family. Although we have parted ways, just know that I will never stop respecting and admiring the character of Brett Favre, and he will still always be my quarterback. God Bless your family, and please remember Wisconsin... Because we will always have a place for you in our state and in our hearts.
Deanna, I watched you on E:60 last night and you looked beautiful as usual but your face appeared drawn and sad. It can't be easy going through this new phase in your life. It's irritating you're having to deal with the added stress of defending Brett's character. I rely on my intuition to help me make judgments and it's telling me Brett would not do or say anything to hurt his former team. Wisconsin and Green Bay miss their "royal couple" and my hope is that some day you'll want to come back to us and have Brett's number retired where it belongs. I feel like the Jets are just "borrowing" Brett right now and that's OK. I'm enjoying supporting two teams. I'm also enjoying the fleece jacket purchased through your foundation and feel proud wearing it knowing it's helping women and their fight against breast cancer. I also purchased the fleece throw for my sister in law to stay warm in the car on the way to her breast cancer treatments. Sadly, on July 4th this year she lost the battle but I keep the throw on my couch as a loving reminder of her and your commitment to helping others.
farve family. THANK YOU for everything you and your family have done over the last 18 years! This was a nice surprise to find this site. Where do you start? Not enough room as far as I am concerned.
Born and raised packer fan for over 40 years is all that needs to be said. I dont want to take up your whole site here so I will try to sum it up. WE LOVE YOU Brett and YOUR FAMILY! Keep up the good work you do on and off the field.
My son just joined Pop Warner Football (almost 8) and Brett has been his inspiration. He was shocked to be told he wouldnt automatically be a packer or couldnt play with Brett. (the way children dream is wonderfull!) He got bumps and bruises as all children do when starting out in football but said no dont pull me, I am ok, Brett would of kept playing! He was torn between spending his allowance on the new madden ps2 or tickets to miami (we live in fla) to SEE BRETT. Now he doesnt understand why we cant just get on a plane to go to NY to see Brett. :) Thank you for all you have done for HIM, you've inspired him to dream big!
My daughter will be 5 soon she was born 12-22-03. She as well is a FARVE fan, a little confused now she says go brett go instead of go pack go. I am saving to buy a signed print of Brett from that game! What a great day for both of us.
You have ALL touched our lives in some way or form, a thank you just doesnt seem enough.
Please keep up the good work, the dreams, and the inspirations! Brett you play and do what you enjoy to do and dont worry about the media, they will fade, true fans and family will never leave you! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, you are great! Hope you all enjoy the holidays,Best wishes to all. Thanks again to all of you!!
I have wanted for some time to get an encouraging word to you and your family regarding what you have been through this summer and now, as the season unfolds. I followed the Packers really because I moved to WI, but really became a fan because of Brett's talent, personality and character. As this summer progressed, I was at first unbelieving, and then angry at the way Brett was treated by the front office, and felt the sorrow you all must have felt. Even now in NY I know the ride isn't easy for him and you all too. Just want you to know you have my prayers for God's will and strength in your lives. I also fervently hope that Brett will have some good games and stats, if nothing more than to prove wrong his detractors. You all still have a lot of faithful fans here in WI, and I for one am a Jet convert this year! Your family is indeed very special, and I will always pray the best for you. Keep up the good fight!

Dear Brett,
I have been a fan of yours since I was a little kid. I have followed you from Atlanta to Green Bay to New York. I want you to know that it doesnt matter what happens with you career, that there are people out there that understand the love of the game and how hard it is to leave it behind. Dont worry about all the critics talking about statistics, it doesnt matter how many picks are thrown or how many TD's there are, so long as if at the end of the game you leave with the "W". Personally I hope you never retire, I look forward to every sunday sitting down on the couch with my son and watching you play, just like I did with my father. When I found out about the trade I immediately went and got my new Jets jersey and have worn it every sunday since. I want to thank you for being an inspiration to me in my career, my family and my life in general. Good luck the rest of the season and I hope you will return next year.
Best Regards,
Travis
Dear Deanna, Brett, and girls,
As a life long Packer fan who now lives in Tampa, FL, I have spent a lot of time defending my loyalty to my team. Though you are no longer with the Packers,my loyalties for Brett as a player are still there and in my heart all of you will always be a part of the Packer family. Recent reports mean nothing to me. Please know that as a true fan I would like to think I know where Brett's heart is. He is and always will be first in the heart of Packer fans everywhere.
To the Farve Family
There are so many of us here in Wisconsin who don't pay attention to the media who continue to tarnish Bretts legacy. We appreciate all that you did for this state and for breast cancer research. I wear my Deanna Farve Foundation sweatshirt with pride and now have a Jets Jersey to wear also. Although I still bleed green and gold I will always be A Farve Family fan.
God Bless you
Deborah
Deanna
Thank You for sharing. It was amazing to read your first blog. As someone who considered myself a Packer fan, I must admit that this whole ordeal has made me sick! I have followed your husband's career from day 1 and I think that if anyone is being sabotaged it is Brett. I know he is the same man I have laughed with, cried with and cheered on. I will no longer call myself a Packer fan. As long as certain people are associated with the Packers. I do not know if I will ever wear green and gold again. (with 1 exception and that is my old #4 jersey) When asked I now say I am a Brett Favre fan. period. I am not just a Brett Favre fan, I am a Favre Family fan. We love you all! Thanks again
You and Brett both have been an inspiration to me and my family. Your faith and toughness to take on what life deals you shows me how really special you are. You have our unconditional support and love. We are Brett Favre family Fans...first and foremost. I love to watch Brett play the game.
Thank you for sharing your heart, I cannot imagine how you and Brett make it through all of the media madness. Brett is patient man dealing with all that. Just know that there are fans cheering him on when he is on and off the field.
We will cheer you guys on... where ever Brett plays Southern Miss, Packers, or Jetts.
Hi! Just me again!! :) Thinking of you all. Wanted to leave a message because I am thinking about the upcoming Jets game!! GO JETS GO!!! xo Mary aka
I just wanted you to know that I feel the same as you.I am a true believer of negative and positive energy.I hate seeing all the negative energy that surrounds Brett from the media and fans none the less.I think it infects one's mind.Isn't it weird that humans accept and are more likely to listen to negative news?I think that is what everybody's problem is today.I think it is no coincidence that cancer diagnoses have skyrocketed the last decades. There are many people that believe that stress and worrying and sadness create cancer cells.Well I could go on all day.I just would like you to know that I feel what you are going through and will be putting all my positive energy and prayers to you and your family.
DeAnna,
The new hope necklace is breathtakingly beautiful! Perhaps someday I will be able to own one. During these hard economic times it is difficult to spend money on almost anything that isn't a neccessity. I am very thankful that you support such a wonderful cause and am so proud of you, for how you turned your darkness into light for millions of other women! GOD BLESS YOU!
PS: I toured Lambeau field yesterday and all I could think of when I watched the guys file in for practice was "I wish Brett was here" - I am sure he is having a great time in NY though - we were honored to be on the same grass that he once played. Take care!
Deanna, lots of us Packer fans still love Brett, you and the girls. We support your family and the decisions you've made and cheer Brett on Sundays. And we still love the Packers, as I think the Favre family does as well.
God bless you and your family, Deanna, and thank you for posting your heartfelt thoughts.
Thank you so much for sharing. I to wish the press would stop. They are always trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. Brett and family were always well loved by many Packers fans, and still are.
I for one pray that Brett can retire someday without major injury. I also pray that if Brett does have hold so animosity toward the Packers that he can find it in his heart to remember that the Packers did well by him for many years and that we would all like to see him retire and go into the hall of fame a Packer.
New York may have welcomed him with open arms but I don’t believe they will stay as true to him as the Packer Fans have.
God Bless to all
Dear Deanna,
You are a wonderful, Godly woman and I am so happy to have stumbled onto your blog.
I have such great respect for you and Brett. I belive Brett is a man of great character and honor.
I am glad you two can be strong for one another.
Your love story is such an inspiration!
I feel like I have a little in common with you. My girls are 19 and 8. No children in between them. (We have two older boys too)
I love being a mom and have been writing a blog for almost five years. If you are ever lonely or need some encouragement...stop by.
Love
Donna
Dear Favre Family,
You have many friends in NE Wisconsin. We miss you terribly, but wish you well in your new adventures in the big city. Please don't let the unpleasant months of dealing with the Packers administration this spring/summer blot out the 17 previous years of the Wisconsin love affair with your family.
God bless you all! I enjoy reading this blog.
Deanna, I just wanted say welcome to the blogosphere such as it is -- if your first post is any indication you are going to do just fine! Write from the heart about things you care passionately about and the rest will follow.
One hint read other blogs and interact this will help a bunch and you will meet some incredible people, real people. I would like to talk with you someday about the work I am doing in the breast cancer fight --I think you'd be interested but for now congratulations!
Hello Deanna, Brett, and Brittany, and Breleigh,
I am so glad I finally discovered you were in the blog world! You all are deeply loved and cared for by countless Packer fans.....like previous posters have said, us "true fans" know who Brett is and we have never waivered in our faith in you guys. We know that Brett is a man of integrity who deeply cares for other people (especially his family, his teammates, and those less fortunate). Deanna, I read your book last year and it inspires me to this day. Every morning I include you all in my prayers, esp. for your continued health and wellbeing. I was shaken to the core when Packers management treated Brett and your family the way they did - it was unfair and unimaginable, in my (and in many people's) opinion. We love you guys!!
Your youngest daughter is the same grade as our oldest daughter--so I know what you mean by "the 4th grade curriculum"! Hang in there and you'll be fine - you know what (and WHO is important in life) and you cling to our Father who has given us all so much to be grateful and hopeful for. Even though we miss you terribly in Green Bay -- I can barely watch a Packer game now without crying -- we know that "God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose". (Romans 8:28)
God bless you all!

Please don't let the negativity get you down. I was an Army journalist and one of the main things I learned was: "If it bleeds, it leads," meaning that whatever is most shocking and inflammatory will be hyped above all else. It makes me sick to see it so often in our media.
I was born & raised in Wisconsin & I've been around hardcore Packers fans forever. I can tell you, most of us here in Wisconsin still adore Mr. Favre, still wish the best for his family & still cheer him on in every game. My grandmother, for example, after being a Packers fan for 70+ years, has completely renounced the team and become a Jets fan.
The majority of us (including me!) still rock our BF jerseys with pride; we regret that you're not here with us, but we don't harbor any resentment. Whose place is it, anyway, to tell a man and his family what is best for them??! Not ours, for sure, and DEFINITELY not the media's!
Anyone listening to & believing everything the media claims about Mr. Favre, his actions, motives, etc., is either CRAZY or they haven't ever read about/seen/heard about the man as a PERSON.
In Wisconsin, football is love, and as weird as it sounds, we care about you guys, you've been a huge part of our "family" for years, and most of us still consider you a part of our family - maybe like the favorite cousin who had to move away. :) haha...ok I'm getting a little silly now, but you get the point.
I know it's trite coming from someone who's never experienced it, but I hope that you guys can brush off any negative crap that's thrown your way, because YOU know you don't deserve it and WE know you don't deserve it.
Remember, "any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain -- and most fools do." - Dale Carnegie
We wish you nothing but the best!!
Favre Family,
I am so glad I found your blogs!!! Deanna, your book is the only book that I have read cover to cover in 2 days! I cried when I had only 10 pages left because I didn't want it to end.... I think you should start working on your second book. My entire family was so sad to see Brett leave Wisconsin...but we love him regardless. We recently flew out to NYC for the weekend to watch the Jets defeat the Bengals, best experience of my life! Keep blogging cause we love reading!!!!
What a blessing you are to Brett! I know it is hard for your family to hear all the hurtful words from the media and others but just hold your head high and stay strong. I wish him nothing but the best playing for the Jets. Will continue to pray for you all.
GREAT game on Sunday! What a team effort!! I love it when you guys get the "W"...
Have a great week!! GO JETS!!!
Our family is truly inspired by your family. I have included a link to a story about my son, Joshua Kasten. We do not want pity or praise just to help motivate others and help others to realize it is how you react to lifes problems, not the problems themselves. Please post this as a motivator to others as we have been Brett Favre fans and have relied on watching Brett play for stress relief very often. Thank you Brett!

The past few years seem to have been difficult for the Favre family. Difficult times often tend to make us forget our blessings. Your family seems to have gotten closer during this time. That is a blessing itself. Remember negative people will say negative things which always means nothing. I enjoy watching Brett play football because he truly loves what he does. No matter who he plays for or where he plays, I hope all of you are happy and blessed.
Good luck in New York!
What a great game last night! Classic Favre!!
I wish we were seeing Brett in the green & gold; taking us to the playoffs this yr. I hope Ted is thinking about how he will explain this mess to the fans now!!! We will always be your fans Brett!!!!! GB is not the same without you!!! Never will be...miss you
Deanna and Brett...Please continue making a difference for all you do! It never goes unnoticed. You and your wonderful family have given us all so much. Although I am VERY grateful the Jets beat the Patriots this week(YahOOOOO...Go Jets), I am more thankful for you both and what you do to make our world a better place. Don't ever forget your fans here in Wisconsin! :) xoxo PS...Brett was quite the comedian during the post game! :)
I can't tell if my messages have gone through to you all because I was having trouble. I just wanted to take a minute to thank you all for all you have done for others. You are all truly beautiful and I feel blessed to have also had the chance to watch Brett play. Thanks again!
I discovered this blog, via my 11 year old son. Let me insert here, my son must be the biggest Brett Favre fan! I would say he has been a football fan, pretty much since the day he was born. Huge JETS fan, also from the start. Yet, somehow, his favorite player has always been Brett Favre. My son believes that as long as he never gives up - and try's his best, his dreams will come true. He gets that inspiration from Brett Favre! Having "Brett The Jet" an honorary NY'er, has my son ecstatic, to say the least.
As a mom, I wanted to know, who is this football player my son idolizes? A little research produced yet another Brett Favre fan, me! I couldn't ask for a better roll model for my son!! What I didn't expect was to find someone I would find inspiration from. I'm overjoyed to say I have. That would be you, Mrs. Deanna Favre! All I can say is THANK YOU! Please don't let the media get to you. You and your family are amazing. I guess that's why the media has to fish for something negative. Ignore them!
From my family to yours, Again, Thank you! Have a blessed holiday season. Go JETS!
As a NY fan, have to say THANK YOU for coming to the Jets. The NFL should pay you for igniting so much interest in the sport. As a woman, I haven't followed football in years, but you and Brett, your story and that of your family, has been inspirational. Please keep blogging, please keep on keeping on and know that there are MILLIONS of us out here who support you 110%!
I'm lifting you and Brett and your family up in prayer this week, as Brett and the Jets face crunch time for their whole season, the next few weeks. I know our lives are much more than football, but Brett has invested so much of his life in the sport. My fondest wish is to see them make the playoffs, and Brett continue to receive the recognition he has always richly deserved. Thank you Deanna for being who you are!
Deanna - When I saw that you had published a book, I decided to get it at the library. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical, mostly because I had preconceived ideas of what a famous football quarterback's wife might be like. I was pleasantly surprised by the book! Thank you for allowing me to see that there truly are NFL players & their families who are not what the media calls the "norm". BTW - I'd love to read another book about what this past year has been like. I'm sure "easy" would not be part of your description.
Can't speak for anyone else , but I personally am still a Favre fan.
Brett has one of the best personalities of anyone in the NFL. I know personalities don't win games, but neither do individuals. Winning is a team effort. There's one more game to go and I say the Jets are gonna win it.
Read about that Favre magic ... still waiting to see him that rabbit out his helment. LOL
Happy Birthday Deanna!
My mama has the same birthday.
If ya'll go back home for Christmas , have a safe trip.
Merry Christmas
Brett take care of yourself , and I hope your shoulder will be alright.
Favre Family ,
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If ya'll are traveling during holidays stay safe.
I want to wish Brett and the entire Jets' team good luck on Sunday's game.
Take care of yourself , and I hope your shoulder will be ok.
Deanna Have A Happy Birthday!
Ya'll have good week.
Merry Christmas to the Favre Family. We love & miss you here in Wisconsin. GO JETS!!!!
Dear Brett and Deanna and family
It was fun watching Brett this year you did a awsome job for not knowing there system. We watched you every week.Deanna it was fun when my mom and i met you up in Fond du lac last year and we were able to get your book signed. Thanks and you and your family have a blessed new year. Love you guys.
Favre family -
I am a long time Jet fan and I just wanted to thank you for coming to NY. The season ended today but it was a great ride! I saw Brett's passion for football and appreciate him giving his blood, sweat & tears for us. I pray tonight for his shoulder to be ok and for another shot next year. I know that he could lead this team far with some more time. I don't wont this ride to end, but if it does... thank you!
I imagine this is a very hard time for Brett right now, harder than when the Lions stuff was going on even, and that is probably magnified 10x because it's all going down in New York, and they have little patience there. But I just want to say, whatever comes next, thank you Brett, and good luck in whatever comes next. I have always appreciated and even admired you, and I see no reason to stop now.
God bless,
Mark,
Oshkosh
Just read the article on NFL.com about Brett needing an MRI. Will definitely be praying that all is well & all he needs is a little R&R. Hope to see him back out there in 09!
God bless you guys!
Kelly
Thanks to you and your family for all you do for other people. It's so easy to be negative - as you know so well. Your values and faith will carry you through whatever the future holds. Peace.
I'd like to thank Brett for introducing me to NFL football, and turning me into an enthusiastic fan of Brett and the NY Jets. The incredible stupidity of the Packers management this summer drew my attention and started me rooting for Brett and his family.
Seeing him play for the Jets, doing wonderful things (game 4 with those six touchdown passes against Arizona...the wins over the Patriots and Titans...even his efforts during the season-ending slump when receivers dropped catchable passes and the offensive line seemed to develop holes as big as Swiss cheese made me respect him more as a player and a man. I like that he never placed blame on others even when blame was obviously called for.
I hope he opts for the arthroscopic surgery and comes back for another year to lead the Jets to the SuperBowl. In any case, he's given me an appreciation for the game that started last year with the Superbowl and bloomed this season when I was able to root for him and his new start.
Please pass along my deepest appreciation and my prayers that his shoulder will come out good as new and he'll come back to find a top-speed, glue-handed receiver added to the Jets roster! God bless Brett and his wonderful family!
Go Brett! Go Jets!
to favre's family

Hi Favre Family: I just checked in becase I am concerned about you all now that the Jets season is over. This last week people have been really rough on Brett and I am outraged. I hope Brett will take all the time he wants to figure out what he wants to do for this fall. My thoughts are with you all. For every one negative there are a million people with positive thoughts for Brett and the rest of your family. My prayers are with you. Deanna thanks for being there. Brett, thanks for the fun again this year. Take good care of each other.
I too have been upset hearing the negative comments about your husband Brett. I truly do believe that he turned the Jets around by leading the way he did---with his heart. The Jets, despite their downfall, was even further from success last year. If it weren't for your husband and his talents, the Jets would NEVER have seen their potential the way they did this year under his leadership. So for the media to scutinize your husband is absolutely unfair and ridiculous. I take comfort in knowing that your husband has a foundation of faith in God and the love of his family, because as you already know, those two things are the only things that can easily lift him up and find forgiveness in those who know not what they do, and especially what they say.
God bless!
Wow I never thought I would ever comment anything that had to do with Brett or the Green Bay packers. For you see I'm a misplaced Bears fan living in Appleton Wisconsin. I had the oppurtunity to see Brett play 3 times in the 07 Season. With all the guessing if he would or wouldn't retire, didn't matter to me as a bears fans, but as a human I did care.
No matter what the outcome I feel that Brett coming back does say a lot about his character. He is a winner and always wants to be one. He came back and yes gave it is all. It is easy for people to point fingers, because it takes blame away from themselves.
I was saddened when his retirement was announced in a press conference. I still remember Walter Paytons last run. Finishing the run for a loose under the opposing team bench on his back. I really wanted Brett to retire on Top, yes with another Super Bowl ring.
No matter what the press says, you and your Family are still loved in Green Bay. And this Bears fan is so proud of you with your struggle that you and Brett will always be in my heart and prayers.
Peace
Hugs and Kisses
Steve
Brett (and Deanna)...I was just reading some articles about the Jet's new coach Rex Ryan and when asked about you he said, "I know the kind of talent he has and the kind of competitor he is. And I would think anybody would want him as their quarterback." He also said, "I know the respect that I have for Brett Favre is great, and it just comes from first-hand info. I've seen him up close and personal, and that's enough for me."
I also read in an article, quote: Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery defended Favre against unnamed Jets who expressed disappointment after the season. "Mr. Anonymous," Cotchery said. "I need to find out who that is, but the entire team doesn't feel that way."
maybe you already knew all that or you'd find out on your own, but I just wanted to let you know in case that affected your decision. do what you feel is right for you!
There are so many incredible memories of Brett and his years playing football. I am watching ESPN highlights after hearing that Brett has decided to retire from the game he loves so much. I will continue to write posts here and on my blog about Brett. I respect your family so much and am grateful with how generous you all have been. Thank you so much for everything you all have done to make our world a better place. Brett...enjoy your retirement! I still hope to meet you and Deanna someday. God Bless you and your family!! 4GBJET--Mary xo
Brett 'The Jet' Favre, THANK YOU for honoring NYC. You will be missed... Okay, secretly, my family is hoping it's all a mistake and you will give us one more season ;-) God bless...
Brett and Deanna and family, We stand behind you and your family 110%--being you must be so difficult yet so rewarding. We are born and raised WI Packer Fans and support Brett in all of his decisions! You are both true role models for our 3 young children! Keep up the great spirit! Live life to the fullest and enjoy just doing what you want to do when you want to do it! There is nothing like "family time" and the quietness of nature! Lots of love from the Family of Five Packer Fans---P.S. My favorite xmas present was a woman's cut Favre Jets Jersey!
Say it ain't so. I am a huge fan of Brett and the Farve family but I have got to say I couldn't support him in a Viking uniform.
Please stay retired and consider all the blessings you have received because of football. Come back and be an ambassador for Wi or whatever but PLEASE don't become a Viking.
Sincerely
Debbi Roelandts

What a beautiful message about your commitment to your husband and family. It is nice to see a strong Christian example of marriage and family.
I think if Brett wants to play and he is healthy enough to play another season than go for it. My husband was forced out of his job as a Police Chief before he was ready to give up a job that he loved, and it has been very hard on our relationship. I pray everyday that he finds joy in what he is doing now. So if Brett will find joy in playing football for one more year, than that is what he needs to do
God Bless
Debbi
HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN! I can barely believe that we will be seeing Brett play again this Fall! I will get over that he will be wearing purple---just happy to know that he will once again be out on the field!!! Go Vikings!! :)
