For the first time in a few months, the holiday season is finally beginning to slow down. The whirlwind eating, shopping, traveling, adjusting, readjusting, and sadly, more eating that comes along with November through January is coming to a close. The delay for the blog is certainly not because of a lack of caring, this is just the busiest time of the year for most so hopefully everyone understands. Since my last post, I spent my Christmas break in New Jersey with my family. Going from warm and sunny Charleston, South Carolina to bitter cold Morristown was a shock, refreshing at first then a snow storm left us with more family time than was expected. Not only did I need the break from school, but the family time was wonderful. I was able to attend my sister's Christmas concert, along with little things that I miss out on while in Charleston. Family meals, running errands with mom, even watching movies together was taken for granted while I lived at home. Since Christmas, we returned to our house in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Mom and I agreed that this was a major breath of fresh air. We were able to shrug off the disappointments of the end of the football season in the company of family and friends. It's hard to imagine the way my parents have to pick up and leave for the six months surrounding football season, as well as the fact that my sister has to adjust to a new school every semester. I left for school at the beginning of January and the last time I talked to my mother she was still trying to put the pieces back together from the big move. This is always the most interesting time of the year for us, because of course the retirement question looms over all of us at the conclusion of the football season. We use this time to focus on our family and making decisions that affect all of our lives. I apologize for the long delay with the blog but now that everything is beginning to run along a steady track, there should certainly be more to come and more often. Thank you to all of the supporters that have made this transition easier for us! Hope all of your holidays were wonderful!

I love football, your Dad was my fantasy quarterback and I so love hearing about one of the best families ever...thank you for sharing.
Brit & Family,
Thanks for the update - we are always thinking of your family! We still wish your dad played for the Packers - I can't hardly even watch b/c it's not the same. I had my first tour of Lambeau and the entire time I just wished things could have been different - but everything happens for a reason - and he gave us SO many great years! We hope you are enjoying college and that you and your family spend some quality time together now that football is over. Your family is always in our thoughts and prayers! We miss you all here in Green Bay - keep in touch!
GOD BLESSINGS!
So happy to see a new blog post!
I, too, took a blogging hiatus over the holidays. So don't feel bad. It all started with football season...my blogging frequency dropped from once a week to once a month. Watching football eats up a lot of one's free time when you are a football fan, especially when you now have 2 teams to religiously follow (ie Packers and Jets). Then the holidays rolled in and blogging didn't happen at all. For the last few weeks, I keep meaning to hop back on the bloggin' train, but there always seems to be something else that takes priority. You know how it is. Tomorrow, I shall rejoin the bloggin' community during my daughter's nap. But, anyway, sorry for the long ramble. Just wanted to say thanks for writing this blog. It's so fun for die hard Packer/Favre fans to be able to follow what your wonderful family is up to, just like we follow all our friends' and families' blogs. Bloggin' is the best. Especially in this day and age when everyone is so transient. It's such a fun way to keep up on what everyone is up to. Good luck with another semester of college!
Sincerely,
Becky M.- major Packer and Favre fan
Happy New Year to you all and welcome back! Family time is wonderful, and those moments together are priceless. Glad to hear you were able to escape the thoughts of football and all things that go along with it.
Hope things get back to what is normal for you and your family soon.
Enjoyed your post. I admire all of you mom/dad/you/sis. Life can't be easy in the spotlight. I appreciate all that your mom has been through. I have been dealing with breast cancer since 1991. It's evident her faith means a great deal to her. I pray you & your sister appreciate that. I loved your dad as a Packer & admire him still. Be thankful for your wonderful, loving family:)
It's freezing here in Dirty Jersey. Heres to hoping that we would see Brett at the Meadowlands.

Glad your enjoying home time being a NY native I know how bad winters can be in the Northeast. But it makes you appreciatte what you have when you are home. I do really hope and pray your dad comes back in 2009. Best wishes whatever he decides to you and your family but please try and sway your dad back to the game he loves next season. It will be a sad day when Brett Favre retires and leaves the game when he can still play at such a high level.
God Bless
So glad to see you back. The holidays can be quite busy and a whirlwind when you think about it.
It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your family.
Yay!! I am so excited that you are back to blogging! Keep it up I have been checking back weekly since Deanna's last post! I can't wait to hear what is new...

I know how it is to move away from home. You immediately start to realize all the little moments you've taken for granted. Since graduating, I moved back home while I look for a job and I'm constantly trying to stay in that mindset of "What if I weren't here for this" so that I no longer take things for granted!
The holidays were definitely crazy around here, but wonderful! I pray that you were able to get some fresh air before getting back into the swing of things at school!
I of course hope to see Brett in that uniform for another year, but I pray that you guys make the decision that's best for your family, not us fans! God bless you guys!
so glad you were able to get some family time. We're praying for your family as I know this decision must be excruciating. So glad your blogging again!
Be blessed...Michele

Brittany, it's great to hear from your family again! I'm glad you guys have each other to lean on. Your family seems to be the epitome of what "family" truly is and I'm happy that your dad has that kind of love and support around him. we too wait with anticipation for the decision he'll make. My husband and I will support him whatever the decision is, as long as he's happy...that's what matters!
Always enjoy reading your posts. Glad you got to spend some much needed time with your family.
My brother is stationed in Charleston with the Navy. Beautiful city. Hope you are enjoying your time there.
Have a great weekend. Will be looking forward to reading more posts from you!
Enjoyed reading your blog. Hope your dad is doing better. If he decides to come back another year I'll look forward to watching him play, if not I hope he enjoys his retirement. Whatever he decides I wish him well.
Good luck on your studies.

Great to hear from you, Brittany! I've been thinking about you and your family. When most people are trying to make good on their New Year's Resolutions, you guys are dealing with major life decisions (each and every year at this time)!
As Wisconsin Packer Backers, we remain loyal to your family and still miss your parents' influence dearly. Your dad had a solid season which is a testament to his toughness, team mentality, and work ethic. We hope that the way the season ended doesn't wear too hard on him because he is an awesome player and makes the NFL fun to watch! Whatever his/your decision is, we support him. Love you guys!!

Hey Brittany, thanks for posting again. I hope you guys are enjoying the post-holiday season and no matter what your Dad decides to do, he's still my favorite QB and Packer of all time.
I hope he retires, to be honest, because I want all this nonsense between him and half of Packer Nation to be over and for all of us to get to enjoy each other and all of the fond memories we have of him playing in the Green and Gold again. But if he goes back, I'm supporting #4 as usual.
Good luck to all the Favres in your endeavors.
Wonderful to hear from you again. I know myself how the "blog fever" can wax & wane, so don't sweat it that you didn't post anything for a while, it happens to all of us, and the important thing is that you post because you want to, not because you feel you have to.
For my own selfish reasons I would love to see your dad play another year, for me he is still a major connection back to the idea that the game itself & how you play it matters, a lot of it today is all about money and making incentives and getting rings with other players (and fans). The joy of watching a person who still knows how to have fun too tops all that, and your dad has always been a great beacon for that spirit.
But putting my selfishness aside, your post makes me appreciate that a lot of sacrifices and disruption come with that bargain, and in the end I hope you all collectively (I know from interviews by your dad that he consults you on these things, which is truly cool) decide do to whatever your family can enjoy and be at peace with too, not just us fans.
Good luck with whatever comes next!
Just heard the news that Brett has retired. I, for one, will miss him so much. Football will never be the same for me. I am and always will be a Brett Favre fan. Good Luck Brett and enjoy your life free of all the criticism that has come your way this past year. There will never be another QB like you. I'll miss you!!
Like others said, your family has been an inspiration to me. I'm sort of sad this morning to see the news about the retirement. I loved watching the Jets play this year & just wished they would've made it to the Playoffs. I really can't blame your Dad or your family for wanting to find out what life has for you after football. Best wishes!
Thank you for sharing your family with us!
Your dad will always be my favorite and I know Sundays will not be the same without him.
You have all touched so many people by letting us into your lives and showing your dedication to help those that are less fortunate.
I wish you all the best of luck!
Wow! I heard the news today about the retirement. I know this must be hard for your family. Even though you've been through many situations over the last few years.
We are praying for you all. We pray favor for each and every one of you. Peace in your decisions and many blessings of joy as you enjoy this new year together! Hmmmm...I wonder if you'll have to work hard to keep your dad busy during the football season! Good luck with that.
Thank you for your postings. We've been fans for YEARS and love reading about how God works within your family. All the best to you!!!
I am going to miss watching your dad on sundays. It's all I've known since I fell in love with football. But I am glad your family gets to be together every weekend now. I still hope one day I will be able to meet him and thank him for all the memories he's given my family. God Bless You Favre family.

Thanks for the update and congratulations to your father for a splendid career. My wife, from Milwaukee, made me a Packers fan and we together fell in love with the Jets when Brett went there. Blessings to all of you - enjoy school!

I look up to your family greatly, and I always appreciate reading the updates you all give!
I am sad to see your dad retire, but I know he made the right decision and it's for the best. My entire life I've grown up watching him play football so it definitely will not be the same...but I would never wish for him to continue to do it if it's not what is best for him or your family.
I wish you all blessings and a wonderful life after football.
GOD BLESS YALL!
Hi!
I have a daughter your age...and a daughter your little sister's age :o) No children in between.
(I do have two big boys too, tho) But when I see you and your little sis, it reminds me of my Emma and Katie.
Emma is away at college this year in Chicago. She loves it. Katie goes to a little Catholic school so she is not lonely. (She use to be homeschooled.)
That is where our similarities end....
well...except we love our families...a lot...
and blog :o)
Good luck with the end of your school year!
