SPRING TIME IS HERE!

Dad with Goofy at Disney World
After a long and strenuous battle with the flu, I decided to spend my spring break relaxing at home with my family. I made my way back to Hattiesburg last week to find everyone settled back into our home and ready for a week of quality time. My parents had just gotten back from Disney World, where dad rode in a parade around the parks. The trip was only a day, but it was a surprise for my sister who has to be the biggest Disney World fanatic that I know. The week was filled with several family dinners and my mom and I went to see Slumdog Millionaire (which I highly recommend, Great film!). While most of my friends took exotic vacations, or planned huge trips to islands and beaches, I was perfectly content in Mississippi. I was also able to catch up on some work after having the flu, so spring break couldn't have come at a better time. Since I've been back, I've been busy figuring out my plans for the summer and this fall. My latest application will land on the desk of a magazine that is circulated around the south (fingers crossed!). Even more exciting is that my parents will be coming in town on Friday for my sorority's parent's weekend! We have plans with my sorority on Friday, then of course mom and I will most likely shop on Saturday followed by dinner that night. I'm thrilled for them to be able to come since it's rare that they get to make the trip. Can't wait, and I hope everyone is enjoying the approach of my favorite season: it's SPRING TIME!

Aahhh, spring time. Gotta love it! Have fun at your parents formal. Those sorority days go fast, so soak in every minute of it. You'll look back with fond memories someday. Have a good one.

I'm a football fanatic and your Dad has always been by favorite. But I think the main reason I loved him so much was not just watching his skill on the football field but his 'just being real'. He obviously loves his family, hangs out with Goofy...who could ask for any better?

Ugh! The flu is nasty! Glad you're feeling better! Hope you enjoy your spring vacation. Our town celebrates theirs starting tomorrow. Funny you should mention "exotic vacations" because my family and I will venture down to the coast on Sunday and return Thursday! Of course, since I'm living at home at the moment it's good to get away, but when I was off at college I knew EXACTLY what you mean by being on vacation at home. Loved those times when I got to come home & just chill for a few days!

Good luck on the job! I'm right there with ya too! Have applications out anywhere and everywhere! Something's gotta stick, right?

Britney-
Always remember that FAMILY will always be there for you - sometimes in life we aren't sure who we can trust, but always lean on them and you will be just fine! It looks like you have a very close family which is a total blesing!!!! :) Enjoy your break and upcoming events w/ your family! Take care! YAY WARM WEATHER! It's still chilly in Green Bay - we had some warm days though! :)

My husband and I drove down to Florida last week (from Wisconsin) and we went to Universal Studios, which was a blast. But we were initially torn between Disney World and Universal...I can't help but wonder if we would have gone to Disney, if we would have bumped into your parents! oh well, we still had a ton of fun, and we also got to see the space shuttle launch right near the Kennedy Space Center! I wonder if your family got to see it? It was amazing!

Spring! Yes my favorite time of year when everythig becoes new again! I am so glad that your parents now have the time to be more involved with you girls. I will sorely miss watching your dad play (the Jets became my second favorite team, after the Packers of course) But I have great memories of the games and will always treasure being able to see him play in person. I was on a cruise 3 years ago with your grandma and Aunt Brandi....it was very nice getting to spend time with them and see the private side. Love to all your family.

Good luck with the job hunt, Breleigh! Glad you got to just rest up on Spring Break...that is so important, especially when you've been run down from school and illness. Take care and have fun with your folks when they come to your sorority weekend! What will your dad do while you and your mom are shopping?

It's been one of those years where everyone seem to have gotten the flue a couple times in a matter of months. I am glad you enjoy your family time with everyone. Life should be lived simple with those you love. Soroity parent's weekend must have been great for bunch of football fans!!!!

I hope one day I can travel cross country with my wife and daughter (and new baby boy coming in July!) I have yet to visit the gulf coast.

Blessings to your family

Terry

I really enjoy your blog. Being an avid sports fan your dad is my all time favorite! I typically do not write to stuff like this, but just wanted to let you know that I enjoy keeping up with your family. It is so nice to see how "real" you all are despite the spotlight. You all are very inspirational. You have such a gift for writing, I know you will be successful if that is what you choose. I have 4 girls of my own and hope that they turn out as beautiful as you. You seem so grounded and smart. Enjoy college-those are some of the most fun times! Take care!

I really enjoy your comments. I am going to miss your dad terribly as a Packer. I am a diehard fan and hope he will be at DD's baseball game. I did an opinion a month in Fan Fair defending your dad. I get into more trouble always sticking up for him. I even have license plates with No 4 fan. Tell him I love and respect him.

I really love your comments. I admire your entire family especially your mom. I miss your dad being a Packer. I watched as many of his games as I could in '08. I recently had an opinion printed in our GB paper and website defending him. I get teased a lot because I am always defending him. I even have license plates with #4 on. Tell him I will always love and respect him.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I was diagnosed in January with breast cancer--at age 35. God has taught me so much so far, and I am hopeful that He will redeem this journey for His glory. I admire your willingness to share your journey with the world--you bring great encouragement to women everywhere. May God continue to bless your ministry!

hey Favre family,

I know this has nothing to do with the blog Brittany wrote, but I just wanted to write you guys. I've heard so much in the media lately about Brett and never know what's really going on b/c there's been lots of conflicting info. Brett, my husband and I will support you whatever you decide to do. I just hope that if you play for the Vikings that it's not just for revenge. As much as I was ticked off with how things happened last summer, I hope you come back to play b/c you still love to play the game, b/c you're still able to commit physically and emotionally, and b/c the Vikings would actually be a good fit for you for several reasons. I do admit it would hurt a little to see you in a Vikings uniform. I just don't want Packer fans to take it personally. I'd like to think I'm one of your biggest fans, although there's plenty of people out there crazier than me, lol. I will watch you no matter what jersey you wear, but I won't forget what you gave us Packer fans for 16 years, and I hope others do the same. please don't forget the bond you had with the fans while you played in Green Bay, there was nothing else like it in the NFL. We miss you terribly. And when it comes to Ted Thompson, think of Luke 6:27-28 "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." and Galatians 6:7 "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." Just do what's right and God will take care of the rest.

Brittany you are an awesome writer! I just found your blog and hope you update it again later, maybe when things quiet down. Just want to wish the best to you and your family and I am a long-time fan of your Dad's who is trusting that the Lord will guide him where he wants him to be!

P.S. About that magazine... it's probably one I subscribe to and LOVE so GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Brittany,

It is really wonderful, kind of refreshing to see that you actually take time to write something in this blog.

I always enjoy reading everything that you and your family contribute to this blog.

I have always and forever have been a fan of your father's. I hope that your father will realize that age is just a number that a heart is forever young and I know your father still has that young heart, the same heart he had the very first time he held a football in his hands.

I should know, I am 45 yrs old, even though I presently live and work here in Japan, I still play football as much as I can. Age is only a number and a heart is forever young, I honestly hope that your father will come out of retirement and play for the Vikings this year.

If he does, I would love more than anything in this world to watch him play in person but financially it is impossible for my family and me to come to Minnesota in person so I guess I will have to settle for watching him play on TV. Anyway, keep up the good work on this blog. I will forever been a fan and a friend.

Sincerely Yours,

Jim Baker
